Golley’s Release: Acquittal or
Pardon?
|
|
The release of Omrie Golley from
detention could be another test
of judicial fairness in our
nation’s legal system. The
Presidential Affairs Minister’s
reason for the release of Mr.
Golley of “no case”, to many,
may seem very shallow and needs
to be explained further.

their up coming twin occasions
i.e. inauguration and the
party’s victory (come back to
power) on the just concluded
parliamentary and presidential
elections in our beloved country
Sierra Leone. This chapter is
believed to be very small in
number, but energetic in term of
actions under the leadership of
the young and dynamic rock-star
AL-hassan Aziz Turay.

DIASPORANS , SIERRA
LEONEANS AND THE
RENEGADE -
By Khadija Sesay |
|
In
November 2006,
Transparency
International ranked
our country the 16th
most corrupt in the
world. Under the
watch of the past
Sierra Leone
People's Party (
SLPP )
administration, and
their unprincipled
spin doctor, Sylvia
Blyden, Sierra Leone
was also ranked the
worst country in the
world to live in ,
based on the United
Nations Human
Development Index.
According to a CIA
data, the life
expectancy rate of a
Sierra Leonean is 43
years. In addition,
a UNICEF study found
that since 2002 more
children under the
age of five years
old die in Sierra
Leone than anywhere
else in the world.
